Berklee Five-Week

Aubrey attended the 2013 Berklee Five-Week program in Boston, MA.  She was part of the Tower of Power ensemble under the direction of Bobby Gallegos.  During the final concert at the Berklee Performance Center, she was thrilled and extremely grateful to be awarded a full four-year scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music beginning in the Fall of 2014!!!

It was a great night at the Berklee Alumni Mixer at the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston.  Aubrey's father graduated in 1983 and her grandfather graduated in 1956 and taught there for 30 years. Aubrey had the opportunity to meet Berklee President, Roger Brown and many Berklee alums and faculty members.  The new chair of the bass department, Steve Bailey, played an incredible performance along with fellow bassist, John Patitucci.  Aubrey was honored to be asked to sit-in by bassist, Baron Browne who recognized her from her videos.  It was her first time playing a 5-string bass!
The Berklee High School Jazz Festival is the largest festival of it's kind in the United States.  Aubrey's group was awarded 1st place in the "S2" division - Small Group Combo
Aubrey also received the Judge's Choice Award and an Outstanding Musicianship award in her division.

Little Big Town

With members of Little Big Town
It was an amazing day!  Many thanks to John Thomasson, bassist and musical director for Little Big Town for making it all possible.  Aubrey had so much fun talking bass, hanging out with John and getting to go to sound check.  She tried out John's bass, a Fender Jazz, and some of the other band members joined in with her for a quick jam.  She met all the singers from the band too.  They were so nice and they remembered her from the American Country Awards.  The show was at Lowell Memorial Auditorium in MA and it was phenomenal!  They'll be on tour this summer with Keith Urban and Dustin Lynch.
Congratulations to Little Big Town on their Grammy win and ACM nominations!
Aubrey performed with "The Meta-Beat" at the Berklee Performance Center.  The group is led by Mark Shilansky who describes the band as playing "meta" versions of Beatles tunes... jazzified, or combined into interesting medleys and mashups, or tunes that the Beatles wrote with other people.
